The SideWinder Band is based out various areas of Maryland and West Virginia. Their line up consists of 4 talented musicians and the instrumentation combination of Keyboards, Drums, Guitar and Bass guitar. They perform a popular blend of dancable Classic Rock, Modern Rock, Motown, New Modern Country and Blues. They have mastered a nice blend and mixture during their live performances. People dance, People have fun!
 Wayne Hess - Lead Guitar / Vocals
Wayne is a Maryland native and is multi-instrumental. He loves all forms of music. About 8 years ago he switched to guitar and has a passion for playing the instrument. He has enjoyed a successful weekend warrior approach since 1992 in the area with such bands as Boom A Rang and was one of the co-founders of Torn along with his musical soulmate and close friend Sunny Pryor who still fronts the group.
The Torn Band is still gigging today and one of the Tri-State areas top drawing bands. He just felt the need to expand his musical family and repertoire and started SideWinder in April of 2008. Wayne loves all types of music and close friends know that he plays constantly with all the free time he is able to get.
 Bob Cummings - Bass Guitar / Vocals
Bob got hooked on bass guitar after hearing Chris Squire on the Prog-Rock classic "Roundabout". In the years that followed he played in numerous rock, blues and jazz bands in So. Maryland and No. Virginia.
After living in So. California for 20 years, where he gained studio experience playing on demos for friends and friends of friends he moved back east and settled in Martinsburg, WV with his wife and pets.
 Billie Jo - Keyboards / Lead Vocals
Billie Jo has been entertaining in the Maryland/DC/ Metropolitan area for over 10 years. She has been recognized as one of the most talented entertainers in the area with an “Awesome Set of Pipes”. She has excited her fans in many venues throughout the area with her versatility and ability to sing many different types of cover songs from Rock-n-Roll to Motown to Blues to Country. She's an accomplished keyboard player and her sound is welcomed as an important addition to SideWinder.
Billie Jo and the band’s high energy entertainment style keeps listeners on the edges of their seats and most times off of their seats, dancing and singing along with them to fun, upbeat, familiar tunes. She is the founder of the former Germantown, MD based group "Billie Jo and The Distractions". Billie Jo’s vocals and entertainment style is all out fun and provides an exciting show, every time. Her presence and execution fronting SideWinder will leave you wanting to see more every time! She is a really special musician and has that "WOW factor"! Her over all Mission: Is To Get You ROCKIN’! "
 Chuck Nusbaum - Drums & Percussion
Chuck has worked with many local bands such as Borderline, Compromise, No Alibi, Rockabilly Blues Band and well known Frederick musician/ guitarist Marlin King. He has also worked with Ronnie Younkins (of Kix) and The Blues Vultures. Chuck brings many years of experience and consistent groove and meter to group. He started playing drums when he was 8 years old....... and he played all through school.... marching , Jazz, orchestra (Tympani).
He also played in numerous bands in the 80's and has filled in with many local bands. He loves to play as well as collect drums. Chuck has an outstanding collection.
Calm and always reassuring, he displays some really fancy cymbal & foot work. Always in the pocket. You can't help but dance to the beats he lays down! |
